I Know.... I Know..

Yeah the video in my last post, is doing a "speed racer", sort of thing. I couldn't figure out what the heck.. All morning I been looking for the reason its doing that...................
then .... there is was in small print. "100mb maximum"
well thats like 25 seconds of AVI. video file. The file I posted was 450mb.
it's 1 minute and 30 seconds long........... It must've compressed it into a playable form which causes the fast forward play.......
So in the future I'll try it again.... Until then

This is how we do it…………

Well this going to be my first video I ever actually posted. Hopefully the first in more to come. I don’t have a decent video camera is kinda a problem Yeah…. but my trusty 9mp GE A950 camera will shoot 30 minutes of video so we’ll see what gives…….. This short video was taken with my built-in web cam, located in my Acer 1410 netbook, the workhorse, and current primary entertainment media for this old foolio…..

So here's my video debut…….. It was filmed last year, If I remember right I  was already feeling no pain, and thought I’d film some proof,, and bragging rights to the fellas, that I was burning some mean bubble…… “Full Melt verified”

so check it out….that’s a dime sized bubble patty on the screen. So you tell me…….

Un-edited, so it’s a little rough…..

That’s some “Widow” bubble, wasn’t real clean, but it Full-melted, very nicely…It wasn’t “clear dome” though…  left a good size carbon footprint. Great first hit bouquet also.

Gonna close it here, So I can see how this video posting goes. Might start doing more of them if it’s about something.

Until again…..

It’s all in the Color….

Sitting here puffing a nice fattie of the homeboy, “Abe’s” , most recent labors, a nice plump flower of “Blue Dream”. So it only makes sense that me…puffing on that… while I was fanning around, in a 5 gallon bucket, full of HeadBand Kush, and thinking about Grand Daddy Purps… Hoo Raw,  Cali – forny – I – aaaa

Seriously though, I’m thinking about, whoa.. wait up…. before I 4get….. check out this furred out, afro-ed, HeadBand Kush. In Growers talk, “it had a high leaf to calyx ratio”.

GEDC2634GEDC2640

Its ugly as heck  and a pain to trim. He’s losing a lot to get it presentable.

GEDC2646

Trimming that Kush, is more a shaping type thing, you trimmers will know what I’m talking ……Oh and the stink on that HeadBand…….all the way to the roach… but anyway… back to the Grand-Daddy…

Some of the homeboy “Abe’s”, Grand-Daddy Purps flowers were PURPLE. you know…. like damn near “Black & Blue using the old boxing term…  check them out

GEDC2654GEDC2657

I got to wondering does it really make a difference…Uno the Purple color and all. “Does the purple color really make a difference.”

So sticky and colorful… were they all the way purple for a reason, or what..

So I decided to find out. Now this is not a very scientific type experiment, just some old fools opinion…

The all purple flowers were lighter in weight compared to the less colored ones of equal size. They also were more “Larfy” (less dense) than the less colored purple buds from the sack. I have two (02) categories of bouquet (smell), “bag and burned”. The flowers can be stinky, as all get-out, in the bag, but when smoked… very little of that stink can be had. If you can find the strain, that has both those charactistics going for it, than you got a winner…. in my opinion. It’s something I look for in a strain…. Anyway back to the purple.

GEDC2626 this photo just isn't doing the color any justice, in person, it’s way hella more darker….. my photography inexperience is showing…

The GDP bouquet is not as intense as the ”Dream” or “Kush”, Oh… it’s there…. just kinda like a weak  “unwrapping a stick of juicy fruit gum” smell coming out the bag. After twisting one up, It held up for 3 or 4 hits off the joint. Both samples were the same type smoke, being a nice smooth textured, heavy weighted type.

So to answer my question of , “Does the purple color really make a difference.”

GEDC2648

I thought so…….

I will  say that after numerous days of smoking the GDP… that the all purple flowers did have a better and stronger bouquet, both in "bag and burned”, samples, I thought, that the all purple flowers smoked better, than the mixed colored GDP. but paid for it with very loose flowers, that became brittle after being out the bag for any amount of time.

Now this was picking average samples out of…. oh… say… 2 to 3 lbs. of “standard market” flowers. The longest being …….maybe 4 inches, and not many of those… average size in the bucket, I was fanning through, was oh……… say… 1 1/2..to… 2 1/2 inches.. a nice average “#3 firm” (on a 1 to 5 scale) in density, they weren’t rock hard. Still a very nice product.

GEDC2628

Specially when you bring in the medicinal factor. Which both samples measured the same.  Each had a 3 to 5 minute creep. Wasn’t to “top heavy”, so for those of you that don’t like that spacey “d-9”, you’d be happy with a little spot of this…. it sits somewhere in the middle on the scale, as It didn’t have much “Couch Lock” either. Well balanced, would describe it..

GEDC2630

A very pleasant experience.  Recommended at 3k a pound, it’s not priced to way way out there.

Just 2 things

I know I haven't posted in awhile, busy time of year for me, the holidays, a few family birthdays and of course it’s harvest time for those of us so fortunate that we can have an outdoor grow happening.

“Abe” came back from the triangle, to the home front, being that he just finished up his outdoor season up north., He had plenty of fresh flowers, of various strains, all very pungent in aroma,

ahhh bros, out comes the GDP….. Headband Kush…… Blue Dream….. here check the Blue Dream out, nice rock hard, full formed flowers, and as always, that Blue Dream aroma…… its just so hard to get this kind of bouquet with indoor.

GEDC2537 Rock Hard Blue Dream

So the first of the two things……… are the new HydroFarm scissors, they call them “HydroFarms Precision Pruners”, with “holster”, they come straight or curved bladed. So when I jumped in to help with the trimming of the homeboy’s labors, I got the chance to give them a real workout. Now I’ve been a “hope to die”, orange buttoned “Fiskars,”  needle point scissors Fan, since I started trimming. The old standby, that most people use, or at least know of.

GEDC2603 HydroFarms PackageGEDC2607

HydroFarm’s Pruners have that classic “Fiskars” shape, but the twist, is they include a holster, which was a nice touch. If you use “Fiskars” , I have and I’m sure their are others like me, that always lose or break that orange release button. The spring and latch assembly are the weak point on that design. HydroFarm has put the latch assembly under the spring, unlike the “Fiskars” which has it above the spring, I sure this was done to stop that Orange button problem. Anyway I cant speak for the strength or design of the belt loop attachment, on the HydroFarms holster/sheath, as I don’t wear them, like that…. but it looks hefty enough.

GEDC2604

So after….. oh I’d say……. around 4 or 5 lbs., of various strains, trimmed up. I can say that they held up well, I prefer a straight blade, but I was using both curved and straight to form a opinion on both, both curved and straight bladed models were nice and balanced.

The curved model was great for those “pine cone” shaped flowers, It may have to much curve for my liking, but others may find it acceptable. Now if you have those “bumble bee stung, bumpy type” flowers, the curved blade may not be the best choice. Also I found that cleaning the curved blade was somewhat difficult but not impossible. It was hard to get a really good scrape in there. All in all though I found them to be an outstanding tool, the price at around 10 bucks retail, was right in the ballpark, and the holster alone would make me want to recommend this HydroFarm product.  Of course….. I’d go straight bladed…… myself

GEDC2612

So now the second of my two things…. 4 me there isn't nothing like a trimming flowers for a few 3 or 4 hours and then taking a break and having a puff, nice warm drink, and a little sugar… Bros.. have you checked out the new Betty Crocker “Warm Delights Hot Fudge Brownie”

GEDC2589 comes with the bowl , the everything is included. Hey if your into warm chocolate than you have to try these….. two (02) tablespoons of water…. whip it and then 45 seconds in the microwave…… 45 seconds……

GEDC2614  then drip this fudge all over it…. Dang…….good.. then chased with a Cadillac coffee…  Dammmmmmmm

Friends….  huh…. eating, drinking, and smelling the aroma of Blue Dream, adrift in the air…. Heaven Bros….straight Heaven…… In Santa Cruz, CA…

I want to say that the homie “Abe” is the sheezit…. for letting me trim through his “labors” in testing the HydroFarm  product. All his strains had outstanding aroma, with good flower formation. The HeadBand Kush was a little leafy, and a bitch to trim (just being honest, Homie) it made up for it in bouquet, and High though..

GEDC2590GEDC2592  uoo-wee.. I gotta pee…

GEDC2539  real Grand-Daddy Purps (nice tint…. yeah!)

So until again……….
